Cooling is the process of lowering the temperature of process liquids, gases or vapors with a refrigerant. In most cases, the coolant is water, less often air (for example, in air coolers) or specially prepared coolants – brines, ethylene glycol / propylene glycol solutions. Chillers in refrigeration machines, cooling due to the evaporation of refrigerants (ammonia, freons), can be considered a special case.
Cooling equipment may have different names in different industries:

They are used in almost all installations for the cooling of intermediate or end products. Cooling usually occurs at the expense of circulating water and at the expense of air in air coolers. Quite often, cooling is accompanied by condensation.
